The film tells the story of a father and son who are in a hostile relationship. Both work at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, are experts in Jewish law, and are eccentric individuals with strong personalities. Due to their significant differences in attitudes towards honor and academic issues, a conflict has arisen between these two scholars that has long surpassed the father-son relationship. The son is a contemporary scholar who seeks fame and fortune, while his father is a serious and conservative classical scholar. Beneath his father's authoritative exterior lies a longing for recognition and validation. The conflict between them has remained unpublicized and unresolved. However, when the Israel Prize is about to be awarded—Israel's highest award for scholars—their conflict finally erupts, leading to a distressing and inconclusive confrontation.
