This film is one of Wim Wenders' "Road Movie Trilogy," which won several awards at the German Film Awards in 1975 (Best Director, Screenplay, Male and Female Actors, Cinematography, Editing, and Music, etc.). A young man named Wilhelm (Rüdiger Vogler), who aspires to be a writer, embarks on a journey at the urging of his mother in hopes of finding inspiration for his writing to escape from the deep void that surrounds him. During the six-day trip, he encounters various people: an elderly man shaped by war, the calm and beautiful "magical" girl Mignon (Nastassja Kinski), the beautiful actress Therese Farner (Hanna Schygulla), and a melancholy overweight poet among others, with whom he forms brief friendships and romantic connections. However, an inexplicable sadness and unease continue to follow him, leading him to make wrong choices at every turning point.
