The film is adapted from the life of the famous British female writer, Alice Mercande. Alice (played by Kate Winslet) has had a heart full of passion and inspiration since childhood. Her avant-garde ideas and progressive theories have influenced the way an entire generation thinks. The taciturn scholar John (played by Hugh Bonneville) captures Alice's heart, and their love story is both fervent and enduring, becoming a celebrated tale amidst people's astonishment. Unfortunately, Alice develops amnesia, and her memories will gradually fade over time. This irreversible condition casts a shadow over both Alice and John's souls, yet it does not shake the strong bond between them. In the face of his ailing wife, John not only stands by her side but also takes on the responsibility of the entire family. A love story that spans forty years, where appearances may change, memories may fade, but love remains eternal.
