A young man from the mainland, A-Hua (played by Lyu Liangwei), arrives in Macau, seeking refuge with A-Lin's father and becoming a waiter at the restaurant. Unexpectedly, he falls in love with the young lady A-Lin, leading to a one-night affair between them. The cheerful and lively A-Fang also harbors deep feelings for A-Hua, but soon she discovers that there is a relationship beyond friendship between A-Lin and A-Hua, which creates conflict between them. Later, A-Hua leaves for sailing, but news of an accident and his loss of contact surfaces. Meanwhile, A-Lin is pregnant with A-Hua's child, feeling helpless. Setting aside her prejudices, A-Fang brings in A-Ji (played by Ho Yiu-Leung) as A-Lin's husband, trying to calm the chaotic situation. Although A-Lin marries A-Ji, she suffers greatly from her unrequited love. A-Ji develops affection for A-Lin and ultimately overcomes his shyness to confess his feelings.
