When internationally renowned painter Mo Ke (played by Zheng Xiaodong) announced that he would donate all the enormous proceeds from his oil painting "Falling Feathers" to the small border town of Mengmian in the southwest, his colleagues were filled with curiosity and confusion. Twenty years ago, when the unknown painter Mo Ke passed by Mengmian, he was captivated not only by the local beautiful scenery but also by the beautiful girl Wen Suo (played by Liu Xiaoxiao) who had peacock feathers in her hair... This film was shortlisted for the International Feature Film Competition at the 2013 Montreal Film Festival.
