The street racer Lin Gang (played by Andy Lau) from Taitung gets into a conflict with the local gang during a street racing event, killing a gang member and fleeing to Hong Kong, where he seeks refuge with the local gang boss, Ding Ye. Ding Ye arranges for Lin Gang to stay at the home of his subordinate Jiao Gui's mistress, Ah Sue (played by Gigi Leung), while Lin Gang and Jiao Gui handle the gang's business dealings. During a transaction with the Hunan Big Circle Gang, Jiao Gui embezzles a gold watch, and unaware of the situation, Lin Gang helps Jiao Gui fend off the Big Circle Gang, leading to Big Circle Hua (played by Wang Xiao) mistakenly believing that Lin Gang is the one who stole the gold watch. The Big Circle Gang seeks revenge on Lin Gang, and Ah Sue becomes involved in the conflict. Meanwhile, the police pressure and entice Lin Gang to become an informant. Reluctantly, Lin Gang and Ah Sue escape to the mainland to avoid the storm, but they still cannot escape the assassination attempts by the Big Circle Gang. What will be Lin Gang's ultimate fate?
