This film is based on the life of Howard Hughes. Howard Hughes (played by Leonardo DiCaprio) was born in Houston, Texas. At the age of 18, he inherited his father's wealth from Texas oil wells and moved to Hollywood with dreams of making films. In 1926, he acquired control of 125 theaters and invested millions to produce the epic aerial war film "Hell's Angels," becoming a well-known producer. In 1939, he took over Hughes Aircraft Company, quickly turning the company profitable. During World War II, he collaborated with the U.S. military to invent and improve the Spruce Goose aircraft. While achieving great success in his career, Howard Hughes also struggled with depression and obsessive-compulsive disorder. His romantic life was tumultuous, with Katharine Hepburn (played by Cate Blanchett) and Ava Gardner (played by Kate Beckinsale) leaving him, which deeply affected him. The film depicts important events in Howard Hughes's life and realistically portrays his legend.
