"Marshall" is based on the true story of Thurgood Marshall, the first African American Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court. The film depicts the events of 1941 when Thurgood Marshall and a white lawyer defended a Black driver accused of raping a white woman. The two principled lawyers, despite their different skin colors, evolve from strangers to allies, working closely together to clarify the case details and ensure a fair trial. This film, adapted from Marshall's true story, serves both as an inspiring biopic and a gripping courtroom thriller. The film "Marshall" is expected to be released during the 2016 U.S. presidential election period, aiming for an "Oscar impact." The film also brings together a talented cast from Hollywood. Black Hollywood star Chadwick Boseman leads the cast as Marshall and is also reported to appear in "Captain America 3." Screenwriters Jacob Koskoff and Michael Koskoff— the former having been nominated for the Cannes Palme d'Or for "Macbeth," and the latter being the Chairman of the Connecticut Bar Association known for his legal expertise—are involved. Regina King, who won an Oscar for "12 Years a Slave," serves as the director and producer of the film. Additionally, producers include Paula Wagner, known for "Mission: Impossible," Jonathan Sanger, producer of the Oscar-winning "The Elephant Man," and Chinese representatives Luo Lei and Dong Jun serve as executive producers and co-producers respectively.
