Kevin (played by Keanu Reeves) is a young lawyer with an unbeaten record, living a seemingly heavenly life with his beautiful wife and a flourishing career. Invited by a prestigious New York firm, he travels to New York with his wife. The luxurious life is within reach, and everything seems to signal a bright and smooth future. Boss Milton (played by Al Pacino) holds Kevin in high regard and continuously entrusts him with important responsibilities while exposing him to a colorful world. Facing the pressures of work, the allure of sex, and the temptations of fame and fortune, Kevin gradually becomes lost in his life, even overlooking his wife's psychological issues. It isn't until his disturbed wife commits suicide in his arms that Kevin abruptly realizes the crisis around him. Enraged, Kevin accuses Milton of setting him up.
