The Tang Monk and his three disciples travel westward, inadvertently drinking the waters of the Mother River and encountering the True Immortal who resolves the difficulties of the pregnant woman. They then enter the mysterious Country of Women. When exchanging for the travel documents, the queen of the Country of Women instantly falls in love with the Tang Monk and arranges for the national master to propose marriage, offering the wealth of a nation to take the monk as her husband. The Tang Monk rejects the master's good intentions, repeatedly turning down the queen's affections while touring the imperial garden together and discusses strategies with Sun Wukong to escape this land of women as soon as possible. When Sun Wukong obtains the travel documents, he uses a spell to freeze the queen and others, allowing the four of them to quickly flee the Country of Women. After escaping to the wilderness, the Tang Monk feels a bit guilty and, in his melancholy, sees the queen chasing after him alone. The queen invites him earnestly to meet in a separate courtyard, and despite his hesitation, he agrees to go. Just then, Sun Wukong, Zhu Bajie, and Sha Seng arrive. When the queen sees Tang Monk’s disciples pursue him, she transforms into her true form, which is that of a Scorpion Spirit, and promptly abducts the Tang Monk. Sun Wukong and the others quickly give chase. The Scorpion Spirit forces the Tang Monk to marry her, but at the critical moment, Sun Wukong arrives and, together with Sha Seng and Zhu Bajie, subdues the Scorpion Spirit before heading to the west.
