After the Alpine Case, Sheriff Niemans (Jean Reno) is promoted to Police Chief due to his outstanding detective skills. He discovers a buried body within the walls of the La Podie Monastery, with mysterious symbols surrounding the corpse and strange rituals performed on the deceased that seem to hide extraordinary meanings. Young Sheriff Leada (Benoît Magimel) finds and rescues a man, resembling Jesus and barely alive, near the church, thinking he has encountered a religious fanatic, but soon realizes this incident is closely linked to the case Niemans is handling. Niemans and Leada are shrouded in mystery until they finally uncover that each victim shares the same names and professions as the twelve apostles of Christ. With the help of female police officer and religious historian Marie (Camille Natta), Niemans and Leada strive to unveil the truth behind this incredible conspiracy. Determined to find all the answers, Niemans and Leada must embark on a perilous adventure to uncover a secret buried for centuries…
