Detective Weber (Wesley Snipes) is assigned to investigate the case, and his superior brings in the suspended John Connor (Sean Connery) to assist Weber, as Connor has spent many years working in Japan and knows how to deal with the Japanese. Weber and Connor investigate the victim's home and the surveillance footage sent from Japan, initially identifying the suspect as the victim's Japanese lover, Eddie (Hiroyuki Sanada). Eddie's father once saved Connor's life, and while Detectives Tom (Harvey Keitel) and Weber track Eddie, leading to a car accident, Connor uncovers the hidden truths of the case through the reconstruction of the footage...
