An editor from New York becomes fascinated with the author of a violent novel and privately investigates his past. A writer's beloved wife is mysteriously murdered. Two years later, he is pursued by a strange beauty, and then his wife suddenly reappears. It turns out the writer's wife was a notorious thief being hunted after stealing diamonds from smugglers, and the mysterious beauty is an FBI agent. Eventually, the two women team up, leading to a conclusion where the bad guys are dead, the beauty gets the smuggler's client list she wanted, and the writer and his wife reconcile to live a happy life with diamonds.
