The Iranian cinematic masterpiece "The Wind Will Carry Us" (1976) has been restored this year and is participating in multiple film festivals, although it was rarely seen before! This film was selected for the Tehran International Film Festival in 1976 and held a screening; unfortunately, the screening was maliciously disrupted—the projector malfunctioned, and the film was damaged, leading the festival judges to withdraw the video from the competition. With no distributors willing to invest, the producer never sent the video to any more festivals or held public screenings (it is said that famous figures Henri Langlois, Rossellini, and Saeed Roustayi saw it in private screenings and praised it highly). After the Islamic Revolution in 1979, the film was banned for its non-Islamic content. Subsequently, the original negative was lost, and only a censored low-quality VHS version circulated. After being lost for over forty years, the director's son unexpectedly found the 35mm negative and sound track of the film at a flea market selling old costumes and props! He immediately bought it and sent it to France. The video was restored by a film foundation, with the process personally supervised by the director and his daughter, and the film's cinematographer Houshang Baharlou also participated in the color correction process...
