The story takes place at Shek O Beach in a fishing village where there are many stones resembling women, known as Lover's Stones, said to be transformed from girls waiting for their lovers to return. Lin Jinshui's daughter, Qiuzi (played by Zheng Peipei), has been childhood friends with Su Dagui (played by Gong Jianong), and as they grow up, a deep affection develops between them. However, a university student named Qin Yu encounters Qiuzi in the fishing port and secretly falls in love with her, ultimately deciding to stay in the village. At the same time, another girl from the fishing port, Zeng Afeng (played by Wen Ling), falls in love with Dagui. This leads to a complex web of relationships and entanglements among the four. After experiencing various twists and turns, Dagui and Afeng, along with Qin Yu and Qiuzi, end up together, forming two couples. However, the plot takes a sudden turn when Dagui and Qin Yu go out to sea together and never return.
