Liang Shanbo (Zheng Yuling) and Zhu Yingtai (Maggie Cheung) are close cousins with a strong bond, relying on rent collection for their livelihood. A Ben (Pan Zhenwei) is their tenant, and one day he mysteriously dies. Liang Shanbo and her boyfriend Zhuang Shuai (Chan Bak Cheung) begin to suspect the circumstances surrounding A Ben's death. A man named Sam (Lam Kwan Hang) claims to be A Ben’s brother and takes A Ben's possessions. The killer, Python (Han Yisheng), kidnaps Liang Shanbo and Zhu Yingtai, demanding A Ben's belongings. Fortunately, Sam and Zhuang Shuai arrive in time to save the two vulnerable women. Inspector Xu (Guan Mingyu) finds Liang Shanbo and the others, demanding a mysterious jade pendant. It turns out that Inspector Xu is the true culprit behind A Ben's murder, while Sam's real identity is a detective investigating the entire incident.
