The assassination of President Kennedy plunges Frank (Clint Eastwood), his personal bodyguard, into feelings of guilt from which he cannot escape. Even after many years, whenever he thinks back to that moment, Frank feels it was his negligence and carelessness that caused this tragedy. One day, a mysterious phone call raises his alarm. The caller, named Mitch (John Malkovich), tells Frank that he plans to assassinate the current president and invites Frank to play a so-called "game," the outcome of which will directly affect the president’s fate. As history repeats itself, this time, Frank is determined to protect the president at all costs. Who is this Mitch? What is his purpose? Faced with a series of questions, an intense and dangerous chase game begins to unfold.
