The film is based on Antony Johnston's novel of the same name and tells the story of espionage activities before the end of the "Cold War": In 1989, the situation in East Germany undergoes drastic changes as the "Berlin Wall" faces demolition, yet this is also the darkest moment with various assassination attempts occurring.
