Agent Stratton (Dominic Cooper) loses his colleague Marty (Tyler Hoechlin) in a mission. Stratton learns that a defected former Soviet agent, Barovsky (Thomas Kretschmann), possesses a highly dangerous stock of biological weapons, which he plans to use to execute his revenge scheme. To thwart Barovsky's plot, Stratton travels to Rome. Hank (Austin Stowell), who is Marty's best friend and a member of the team, lets his hatred cloud his judgment, and his mistake leads to the failure of the entire operation, allowing Barovsky to escape right under their noses. The team must return to London to regroup and replan, with little time left.
