Rose Elliott, a poet living in New York (played by Irene Miracle), buys a Latin architectural book in an antique bookstore one day. The book claims that there once existed three evil mothers in the world, who spread terror and pain, ultimately manifesting in three buildings designed by architects in Rome, New York, and Freiburg, Germany. Rose suspects that her apartment is one of those mentioned in the book, and she writes to her brother Mark (played by Leigh McCloskey) who is far away in Rome, then ventures into the basement alone to investigate. Mark, upon receiving the letter, talks with his sister, but the call abruptly disconnects. He quickly rushes to New York, only to learn that his sister has gone missing. Reluctantly, Mark begins to search for the secrets behind the ancient book...
