Sherlock Holmes (played by Robert Downey Jr.) is exceptionally logical even when putting people to death; however, he is a "freak" in his private life, at least in the eyes of his assistant, Dr. Watson (played by Jude Law). The "dark wizard" Lord Blackwood (played by Mark Strong), whom they brought to justice, claimed that death is merely the beginning right before his execution. Soon after, Irene Adler (played by Rachel McAdams) appears asking for his help in locating a missing person, alongside a terrifying shadowy figure. Rumors circulate that the dark wizard has come back to life, his grave has been disturbed, and that there is someone else lying in the coffin. It’s time for Sherlock Holmes to investigate again, but the process is fraught with danger from the start, and Dr. Watson nearly loses his life during the investigation, while Holmes himself becomes ensnared in a series of riddles. This film is based on the famous comic of the same name by Lionel Wigram. Nominated for two awards, Best Art Direction and Best Score, at the 82nd Academy Awards in 2010, as well as Best Actor in a Musical or Comedy at the 67th Golden Globe Awards for Robert Downey Jr.
