During a massive fire at the science park where Zong Tianbao works as a security guard, he sacrifices himself to save female researcher Gao Yu. However, Professor Pan from the research institute unfortunately perishes in the blaze, and his handwritten notes disappear in the fire. The fire triggers a dust storm, engulfing all of Hong Kong in smog. Wealthy individuals are able to escape pollution thanks to the "Sky No. 1" funded by tycoon Wang Yaochai, while the late Professor Pan's assistant Tang Yongzhang becomes his partner. Tang's first wife, Gao Yu, continues to work on the "regenerative medicine" research of "super stem cells" aboard Sky No. 1, fulfilling Professor Pan's dying wish. Coming from Taiwan, Jia Jia brings her terminally ill sister Xiao Zhen to Hong Kong for treatment, only for the two siblings to become embroiled in a heist involving "super stem cells."
