In a future world, to win the interstellar war, the government strictly selects a group of infants and trains them to kill from a young age. These individuals have no families or feelings, and their only focus is on killing, known as Soldiers. Todd (played by Kurt Russell) is a standout among this group, having survived numerous interstellar battles. This time, the government employs new genetic technology to alter infants in the womb, creating a batch of improved Soldiers. To test the results, Todd and two partners are selected to compete against the new Soldier, Kane (played by Jason Scott Lee), resulting in the death of both partners, while Todd is mistakenly considered dead due to a coma. Their bodies are dumped on a trash planet. There, Todd encounters abandoned civilians, and his numb heart grows friendship and love. Just as he is ready to live happily with his beloved woman, the government turns the place into a training ground for new Soldiers. The new Soldiers' mission is to wipe out all living beings. For the sake of his loved ones and friends, Todd resolutely goes into battle!
