Charlie (Mark Wahlberg) originally could have lived the rest of his life with the box of gold he stole, but the betrayal by his partner Steve (Edward Norton) threw him into chaos. Not only did Steve escape to Los Angeles with the huge sum, but he also caused Charlie to suffer behind bars. Now out of prison, Charlie is determined to settle the score with Steve. He recruits expert thief—beautiful Stella (Charlize Theron) to crack the safes, while he and his other partners design a clear escape route for a quick getaway. Stella goes to lure Steve into a trap but is outsmarted by the cunning Steve. Meanwhile, Charlie quickly sabotages the Los Angeles traffic light system, causing a spectacular traffic jam. However, to their surprise, escaping is not that simple—Steve does not chase them in a car; instead, he uses a helicopter to pursue them relentlessly from above. The underground tunnels and streets of Los Angeles descend into chaos.
