The film tells the story of the conflict between Russia and Georgia in August 2008. The 2008 South Ossetia war was a war that broke out in Georgia in August 2008, with one side being the Georgian government and the other side being South Ossetia, which declared independence unilaterally, along with its supporters Abkhazia and Russia. Starting from August 1, there were several skirmishes between Georgia and South Ossetia. In the early hours of August 8, Georgia launched a full-scale military operation and quickly controlled more than two-thirds of South Ossetia, encircling its capital Tskhinvali. Russian troops entered the South Ossetia region on the 8th and launched military operations on the 9th, quickly taking control of Tskhinvali, and in the following days occupying Georgian territory and military bases beyond South Ossetia. Under international mediation, Georgia and Russia signed a ceasefire agreement on the 15th and 16th, respectively, and Russian troops began to withdraw from Georgia on the 18th, marking the end of the war. This war resulted in 215 Georgian soldiers killed and 1,469 injured; 74 Russian soldiers killed, 171 wounded, 19 missing; and approximately 1,600 South Ossetian civilians dead.
