This film is Rain's last work before enlisting and is dubbed the Korean version of "Top Gun." The film is a remake of the 1964 air combat film "Red Scarf" directed by Shin Sang-ok, which is set against the backdrop of the Korean War. The pilot Tae-hoon (played by Jung Ji-hoon) of the Air Force's special flight team, known as the "Black Hawk," uses a flying technique called "engine-off glide," which is strictly prohibited, during an air show, causing chaos at the scene. His rebellious nature causes headaches for his superiors, who decide to "demote" him to the "21st Fighter Squadron." One day, an unidentified enemy aircraft attacks the skies over Seoul, and the unprepared 21st Fighter Squadron engages in a desperate battle. Although they suffer heavy losses, they manage to regain control of the situation. The entire peninsula falls into a larger conspiracy whirlpool, and the 21st Fighter Squadron ultimately receives orders to execute a special operations plan—R2B: Return to Base. The decisive battle lasts 7 minutes, determined to win...
