Poland's first 3D film "The Battle of Warsaw" will be released on September 23. The film reflects the famous battle in 1920 when the Polish people resisted the invasion of the Soviet Red Army. With a production cost of approximately $8.3 million, it is one of the highest-budget films in Polish history. Situated between two of the world's most militaristic powers, Germany and Russia, Poland is often referred to as Europe's "doormat"—everyone steps on it when they go out. A country plagued by adversity has a special affinity for history; from the perspective of box office performance, the four highest-grossing films in Polish history—"With Fire and Sword," "Mr. Tadeusz," "Where Are You Going," and "The Katyń Massacre"—are all based on historical events. The great power aspirations of the Polish people can only be expressed and expanded through the art of film. Although "The Battle of Warsaw" may not be particularly remarkable, the grand trailer showcases Polish poets, singers, and priests all rising up, and portrays the two Soviet leaders in a way that is both casual and revealing a bit of unrestrained spirit.
