Xu Ji Roast Duck is a well-known delicacy on the streets of Hong Kong. Although the shop is shabby and the decor is outdated, the outstanding roasting skills of the owner Old Xu (played by Xu Guanwen) still attract many diners who come to enjoy a feast. The business in the shop is thriving, but Old Xu is very harsh toward his employees. Endless overtime and miserable wages lead to complaints from the staff, yet they are deceived by Old Xu's smooth talk. However, one day, disaster strikes Xu Ji Roast Duck. A western-style fried chicken shop opens across the street, and the owner Danny (played by Wu Qihua) promotes his fast food with advanced concepts, quickly stealing Old Xu's customers. In the face of a crisis, Old Xu devises various strategies to cope, while Danny also aims to put the roast duck shop out of business... This film won the Best Actor Award at the 1989 Las Vegas International Comedy Festival.
