The story takes place in Europe in 1830, where Paganini (played by David Garrett) is a charming yet incredibly talented violinist. At this time, Paganini is at the peak of his career, and with the help of his manager Urbani (played by Jared Harris), he captivates all of Europe with his music. However, the stiff and conservative citizens of London do not warm to Paganini, prompting Urbani to prepare for Paganini's debut performance in London. Assisting in this plan are British agent John (played by Christian McKay) and his mistress Elizabeth (played by Veronica Ferres). An unexpected event forces Paganini to stay at John's home, where his "old habits" resurface.
