In a war-torn era, a farm in the English countryside maintains a tranquil landscape. Mrs. Green (Maggie Gyllenhaal) runs the family farm alone, waiting for her husband to return from military service. The farm and three mischievous children at home occupy her mind, while her irresponsible relative Phil (Rhys Ifans) often shows up to bother her. Phil, who has accumulated gambling debts, attempts to use the Green family's farm as collateral, but despite repeated rejections, he remains undeterred. Even more troubling for Mrs. Green is the arrival of her nephew and niece from the city, seeking refuge from the war. The privileged cousins clash with Mrs. Green's children, leading to family chaos and a nearly overwhelming situation for Mrs. Green. Nanny McPhee (Emma Thompson) appears just in time to help Mrs. Green. She uses her magical powers to swiftly end the chaos, deciding to stay with the Green family to teach the children. During their life on the farm, McPhee imparts five invaluable life lessons to the children, and in doing so, begins to transform her own previously ugly appearance... This film is a sequel to the 2005 movie "Nanny McPhee," but the two stories are not directly connected.
