The life of the Mongolian herdsman Sunite and his family of three was originally very happy and prosperous, but recently the couple has often quarreled and refused to yield to each other. His wife, Irina, is kind, beautiful, and talented in singing and dancing, but she has a somewhat stubborn character. Sunite was a high school graduate before marriage. Irina saw him as simple, honest, a skilled herdsman, and very considerate of her, so she gave up her plans to join the Ulaanbaatar art troupe and quickly married him. Later, Sunite noticed his wife receiving attention at dance parties several times, and an unclear sense of jealousy and suspicion made him increasingly irritable. He often drowns his sorrows in alcohol and loses his temper. One day, he drunkenly abused his wife for no reason. Stubborn Irina couldn't stand it any longer and, in a fit of anger, took to horseback and left home. Poor little Jiya had to stay with his father. Their neighbors, also a young couple who worked as herders after graduating from high school, are friends of Sunite. The husband, Aduqin, is a good friend of Sunite and a classmate of Irina. His wife, Badama, is kind and gentle, and very close to Irina. Their little daughter, Tana, is good friends with Jiya, and they both go to the same herder's elementary school. Every day they ride the mother camel, Aisa, to school and back. After Irina left, the Aduqin couple took even more care of little Jiya. Jiya is a hardworking, understanding, and strong-willed child. After Sunite calmed down, he missed Irina very much, but felt too embarrassed to admit his wrongs. Irina returned to her mother's home, where her mother urged her to go back. Although she missed Jiya dearly, she insisted that Sunite must come to apologize. Aduqin tried to arrange for them to meet at a herders' gathering, but he still couldn't convince Irina to go back home. The couple maintained a standoff for a long time, while little Jiya relied on Aisa every day. One day, Sunite brought a camel trader to their home, and Jiya overheard their conversation, learning that his father planned to sell Aisa to the trader in exchange for 10 bottles of white wine. Jiya understood that confronting his father directly wouldn't work, so he first smashed the trader's wine bottles and later rode out with his friend Tana to intercept the camel trader. Late at night, the clever and brave Jiya skillfully led Aisa out of the herd, but he and Tana got lost in an arid area due to their unfamiliarity with the geography. Mother camel Aisa dug out a spring, saving them from the threat of death. At this moment, Sunite and Irina could no longer focus on their quarrels; they, along with Tana's parents, went out to search for the children. When they saw the beloved Aisa rescuing Jiya and Tana like a mother, they couldn't help but feel deeply remorseful, their hearts shaken greatly.
