Martin (Luca Marinelli 饰) was born into a poor family and had very little schooling. He now lives a life dependent on his sister, having become a sailor drifting on the vast sea. One day, Martin encounters a wealthy young lady named Elena (Jessica Cressy 饰), who lends him a collection of poems by the French poet Baudelaire. Martin has never read such words before and is deeply captivated by them. During his long periods at sea, he eagerly absorbs this knowledge and gradually begins to entertain the idea of writing himself. Martin becomes unemployed and seizes the opportunity to formally pursue writing. He continuously submits his work but faces constant rejection, never once thinking of giving up. Eventually, Martin's novel is published, bringing him countless fame and wealth.
