Crystal (played by Kasumi Arimura) lives a happy and harmonious life with her husband Shuhei (played by Takahiro Aoki) and adopted son Shunya (played by Ryusei Kankuro). One day, she suddenly receives the news of Shuhei's death, and Crystal's nightmare begins. Taking Shunya with her, Crystal returns to Shuhei's hometown of Kagoshima, where she decides to start a new life; there, she meets Shuhei's father, Yoshio (played by Jun Kunimura), whom Crystal has never met before. Yoshio is a very reserved and serious man, and although he is surprised by Crystal and Shunya's sudden visit, he does not say much. Thus, the three of them begin their life together under the same roof. Shuhei's biggest dream as a child was to become a train driver, and influenced by his father, Shunya is also filled with aspirations for electric trains. To fulfill the shared dream of Shuhei and Shunya, Crystal decides to strive towards becoming a railway driver.
