Living in Sendai, home delivery worker Masaharu Aoyagi (played by Masato Sakai) is a sensitive, kind-hearted young man. Two years ago, he became a local hero by rescuing popular actress Rika (played by Shiori Kanda) from a threatening assailant. One day, he receives an invitation from his college friend Sengo Morita (played by Hidetaka Yoshioka) to go fishing, and he gladly agrees. However, Aoyagi is taken by surprise when Morita seems to have lured him into a trap. On that day, Prime Minister Kaneda (played by Fumio Ito) is killed in a bomb attack while inspecting his hometown of Sendai, and Aoyagi becomes the prime suspect. The police headquarters quickly sets up an elaborate net to catch him, while a mysterious force that knows the inside story is eager to eliminate Aoyagi to silence him. With the help of friends and strangers, Aoyagi is forced to embark on a desperate escape in the small city of Sendai, where "trust in others" is his only weapon... This film is adapted from the novel of the same name by Kotaro Isaka.
