"On January 3, 1889, Turin. Friedrich Nietzsche stopped in front of Door 6 at the Hotel Villa Carlo Alberto. His gaze was drawn to a carriage outside the hotel. Not far away, a small cart was stopped. The coachman was confronted by a stubborn horse. No matter how much the coachman shouted, the horse showed no intention of moving. Eventually, the coachman lost patience, picked up the whip, and struck at the horse. Seeing this scene, Nietzsche pushed through the crowd and ran up to the horse, stopping the coachman, embracing the horse's neck, and weeping bitterly. The hotel owner came over and dragged Nietzsche away. Back at the hotel, Nietzsche lay quietly and motionless on the sofa for two days. Afterward, he softly spoke a few words. What followed was a decade of Nietzsche's mental breakdown, cared for by his sister and mother. No one knows what happened in that moment in Turin, on that horse, in Nietzsche's mind."
