The story takes place in the tumultuous 1930s, where Zheng Shixian (played by Feng Shaofeng), the young master of Zheng Ji Shipping in Xiamen, encounters the beautiful and gentle embroiderer Gao Shuhua (played by Tong Liya) in Taiwan. Zheng secretly marries Shuhua without informing his father and fiancée Luo Meifang (played by Sui Junbo), and they have two lovely children, Yijun (played by Lu Ziyi) and Mingjie (played by Sun Tianyu) after marriage.
