This film is adapted from the famous work of Gu Long and is another masterpiece directed by Chu Yuan. The number one swordsman in the world, Yan Nantian (played by Wang Rong), carries a baby to Evil Man Valley to seek revenge for his sworn brother Jiang Feng, but unknowingly falls into a trap set by villains and loses consciousness. The baby grows up in Evil Man Valley and is named Xiao Yu'er (played by Fu Sheng). Xiao Yu'er learns about his background from the divine doctor Wan Chunliu and ventures out of the valley to seek revenge on Jiang Qin! Along the way, he encounters Tie Xinlan (played by Wen Xue'er), and besides obtaining a treasure map, he is also repeatedly pursued by Hua Wuque (played by Wu Wei Guo), a disciple of the Hua Family Palace. It turns out that Hua and Yu are actually a pair of twin brothers, and the master of the Hua Family Palace, dissatisfied with their father Jiang Feng's change of heart, collaborates with Jiang Qin (played by Tang Jing), who has renamed herself Jiang Biehe, to set up a plot that leads to the brothers turning against each other! As the conspiracy is revealed, Hua and Yu join forces and ultimately stab Jiang and the palace master to death.
This is a story about treasure and twin brothers being manipulated into killing each other, considered one of Chu Yuan's best-directed films. Fu Sheng's performance adds a unique touch to the film; his portrayal of the kung fu teenager who finally uncovers the truth behind his parents' death leaves a deep impression on the audience. Unfortunately, Fu Sheng passed away in a car accident at the young age of 29, which is truly lamentable.
