This film is entirely shot on high-definition movie film, crafted by the original team of "Teletubbies." Producer Ann Wood has once again created a beautiful garden in the UK, featuring carefully designed characters and high-tech animation. Young viewers are easily attracted by the colorful garden, realistic animations, and humorous characters. Unlike typical children's programs, "In the Night Garden" stands out by not explicitly "teaching" children anything; instead, it offers a joyful time of curious exploration for children aged 1 to 5.
In the Night Garden - Character Introduction
The character Igglepiggle: a blue Igglepiggle that resembles a teddy bear. He is a visitor to the garden and returns to his little boat at night. He always drags along a red blanket and will lie flat if startled. Upsy Daisy is his best friend in the garden. Igglepiggle is lively, energetic, and always bouncing around. He is both curious and adventurous, yet modest. Sometimes he needs encouragement and comfort, relying on his blanket that says "Don't worry, Igglepiggle." "Yes, I'm Igglepiggle," ... any surprise excites him immensely, making him double over with laughter! However, he quickly straightens up and starts laughing again.
Upsy Daisy: Upsy Daisy has multicolored pigtails and looks like a cloth doll. When she's happy, her pigtails perk up. Upsy Daisy's bed is alive and moves freely around the garden, so she must catch her bed before it runs away at bedtime. Upsy Daisy loves to sing and has an orange standing microphone. She is a cheerful and optimistic doll, brimming with confidence and emotion, and loves to dance all around the garden. She is best friends with Igglepiggle, almost like siblings.
Makka Pakka: Makka Pakka is rounder than Igglepiggle and lives in a little cave, sleeping on a stone bed. Makka Pakka always pushes a cute little cart around the garden, filled with sponges, soap, and a red horn. He enjoys cleaning and organizing, acting as the guardian of the garden. Makka Pakka loves to collect and wash small stones. He also likes helping other toys clean and dry their faces. Makka Pakka sleeps in his cave on a colorful bedding setup made of small stones. When he goes to bed, he always takes his favorite stone with him.
Tombliboo: The Tombliboos are dolls wearing polka dots and stripes, consisting of Tombliboo An, Tombliboo O, and Tombliboo Eee, who share the same bed in a bunch of trees. They always state their names when they appear, love to drum and play piano, and always remember to brush their teeth before bed. They tend to huddle together, rarely acting alone, and their pants often fall down unexpectedly. When in the bushes, they either play piano, drum, stack blocks, or sort bricks. An An's clothes are red and green. Ooh Ooh's clothes are brown and pink, while Eee Eee's clothes are pink and yellow.
The Pontipines: The Pontipines are a ten-member family living at the foot of a tree. They wear red clothes and sleep in the same room. Papa Pontipine has a beard, which sometimes flies away and ends up on Mama Pontipine's face. Mama Pontipine wears binoculars around her neck to look for missing children. The Pontipines can fly through their chimney into their home; Papa and Mama Pontipine have eight children, four boys and four girls, who often cannot find their kids, but fortunately, the little ones always return home safely. The Pontipines' neighbors are another ten-member family, the Wottingers.
The Wottingers: They are a ten-member family living next to the Pontipines, looking just like them, but the Wottingers wear blue with red trim, while the Pontipines wear red! The Wottingers always greet the Pontipine family.
Haahoos: Haahoos are five oversized pillow-shaped characters who leisurely stroll around the garden. They are quiet and gentle, yet large enough to block Makka Pakka's way—no small feat! When they stack up to sleep, they call out to each other.
The Flying Toad: The Flying Toad is an airship adorned with numerous flying wings and large floor lamps. When the garden babies travel in this airship, they can overlook the marvelous sights of the garden. The light on the nose of the airship flashes green slowly during takeoff and flashes red slowly when landing. The lights inside also flicker during takeoff and landing. When the door of the airship opens, the lights flash alternately, and when the door closes, the lights go out.
The Ding-Ding Train: A somewhat comical train, composed of carriages in various sizes and shapes. The Ding-Ding Train sways its way through the fence, using all its might to climb up and down tree trunks, sometimes even weaving between branches upside down! Toys must securely buckle their seatbelts!
