Caroline (Kat Dennings) is a rebellious 17-year-old girl who follows her father as they move from a bustling city to a picturesque small town. However, what Caroline doesn’t expect is that beneath the seemingly calm exterior of this town lies many dirty secrets. It turns out that the monotonous life drives the youth of the town to seek thrills, and they choose the quickest way to achieve that: drug use. One day, Caroline meets a man named Thurston (Reece Thompson), and her youthful energy immediately attracts him. However, Caroline seems indifferent to Thurston's passionate pursuit. A series of murders plunge the entire town into panic, and at the same time, Caroline finds herself ensnared in a forbidden romance with a teacher, gradually realizing that there seems to be an intricate connection between the two events.
