A girl (Kika Magalhaes) lives with her parents on a remote farm. Her mother is a surgeon, and under her influence, the girl becomes curious about anatomy. One day, while her father is out, a stranger (Will Brill) breaks into their home and kills the girl's mother. Afterwards, the girl's father imprisons the man. The death of his wife drives the father into despair and mental collapse, and the girl takes on the responsibility of caring for him.
