Meanwhile, the wealthy sip their drinks with mirth, indulging in the annual slaughter with a guise of nobility and elegance. As the massacre is about to begin, estranged couple Shane (played by Zach Gilford) and Liz (played by Kiele Sanchez) find their car broken down on the road, frantically searching for a place to hide. Eva (played by Carmen Ejogo), who has just lost her closest family member, and her daughter Carly (played by Zoë Soul) are also trapped at home, facing impending doom. At a critical moment, the mother and daughter are rescued by a sergeant (played by Frank Grillo) patrolling the city's alleys, and coincidentally, Shane and Liz end up in the sergeant's vehicle. Old grievances and various frustrations with the world erupt on this night, as fragile lives face the most brutal tests…
