The story takes place in Italy in 1757. Tailor Pippo Popolino impersonates Italy's greatest swordsman, the most famous womanizer Casanova, to attract the widow Francesca Bruni. By a twist of fate, Pippo, in the guise of Casanova, accepts a lucrative commission: to seduce the beautiful Miss Donna, who is about to marry into the most powerful family in Genoa.
