The film is adapted from Charles Wilford's novel of the same name. The story takes place in Italy in 1970, where an American art critic (played by Kloss) and a woman traveling through Europe (played by Debicki) develop the idea of stealing art pieces during their visit to an art collector in Italy (still casting). Walken plays an art tycoon, Jerome Debney.
