The death of the great director Akira Kurosawa is regarded as the "fall of the sun," leaving countless people filled with sorrow. As an assistant director who had followed Kurosawa for 28 years, Yoshitaro Miyazaki takes on his first role as director, handling this unfinished work of Kurosawa - a period drama adapted from the original work of Shoji Yamamoto. Mizusawa Ibe is proficient in swordsmanship but has little success in his official career. Wandering with his wife, they cannot cross the river due to days of heavy rain and have to reside in a small inn.
