Peter Garrison (played by Michael Douglas) is a Secret Service agent and the personal bodyguard of the First Lady at the White House. With a 20-year career as an agent and having once taken a bullet for the President, he is undoubtedly a star within the Secret Service. However, Peter never imagined that one day he would become a target himself. He receives word that Nazi infiltrators have entered the White House, and a plot to assassinate the President is brewing, but the agent who possesses the clues, Charlie, is subsequently murdered. The capable agent David (played by Kiefer Sutherland) and rookie Marlene (played by Eva Longoria) are assigned to investigate the case and polygraph all agents, but Peter fails his test. His ambiguous relationship with the First Lady starts to circulate within the agency, leading to him being suspected as the would-be assassin. While everyone is busy hunting down Peter, the real killer moves closer to the President. In an effort to protect the President, the only way for Peter to change the situation is to persuade David and Marlene to join him in catching the real perpetrator...
