Young Ding Peng (played by Er Dongsheng) comes from a humble background. After mastering the ancestral sword technique "Meteor from Beyond," he challenges various martial arts masters to make a name for himself and bring glory to his ancestors. However, Wudang sect leader Liu Ruosong (played by Wang Rong) orders his wife Ke Xiao (played by Lin Jianming) to devise a scheme that leads to Ding Peng losing the sword manual and ruining his reputation. Ding Peng, feeling hopeless, goes to a remote area to end his life but is stopped by a woman named Qingqing (played by Wong Ming Choi), who claims to be a "Fox Ghost." The two then practice martial arts together in a paradise-like border between the living and the dead and eventually become a couple. A year later, Ding Peng masters the Curved Moonblade technique and becomes invincible. Ignoring Qingqing's pleas to stay, he insists on leaving to seek revenge. They return Liu Ruosong's schemes against him, leading to his downfall. Ding Peng, full of ambition, travels to Divine Sword Manor to challenge the Young Master Xie Xiaofeng (played by Yue Hua), but despite the Young Master's attempts to enlighten him, Ding Peng abandons Qingqing to marry into the Nangong family. A series of vengeance and the truth about Qingqing's identity soon awaken Ding Peng to the realities of the martial world.
