Following the conclusion of the TV series "On the Hunt," Liang Xiaotang (played by Hawick Lau) is found guilty of murdering Su Xingbai (played by Wong Chung Chak) and sentenced to life imprisonment. In prison, Liang meets university professor Huo Tianren (played by Anthony Wong), a seemingly genteel man who shuns conflict but can ensnare the most vicious criminal, "Ju Chuan" (played by Lin Hsueh), through psychological traps. In fact, the professor is a highly intelligent criminal psychologist skilled in cold reading, able to intuit others' psychological activities and secrets, silently controlling them. A mysterious woman (played by Samantha Ko) visits Liang Xiaotang in prison, revealing her affiliation with a higher-level security bureau than the police. It turns out that Liang's imprisonment is a strategy for him to go undercover again. The day of the murder of Su Xingbai, there was someone else involved, and the deputy director of the security bureau (played by Miu Chung Ching) suspects that the entire incident is related to a corrupt group within the police force, thus leveraging Liang's incarceration to investigate. Liang proactively engages with his target in prison, former drug investigation chief "Da Qie" (played by Chapman To). Just as he is about to make progress, he discovers that the professor is simultaneously using psychological treatment methods to cause "Da Qie" to experience multiple mental breakdowns, eventually sending him death messages. A fierce confrontation unfolds, with blurred lines between friend and foe, and a battle between justice and evil in a situation of extreme imbalance.
