Reville is a doctor whose wife was murdered. At her funeral, he meets the officer in charge of investigating the case and press him about when it will be solved. Eventually, the murder case turns into a cold case with no leads and no suspect, and no one seems to care anymore. Reville misses his wife and wants to understand the cause of her death. During an autopsy, he discovers a key hidden on the body of the deceased, named Jonathan, who died by suicide. Using this key, he embarks on a journey that uncovers many secrets and leads connected to his wife's murder. At this point, Jonathan's daughter appears, and in her quest to uncover the truth about her father's death, she teams up with Reville to investigate. After many tense and thrilling experiences, Reville uncovers a shocking secret: Jonathan did not commit suicide but was rather murdered by his daughter. When Jonathan's daughter realizes Reville has figured this out, she attempts to kill him but is instead killed by Reville. Reville ends up in prison and encounters again the officer from his wife's case, and everything seems to be part of a well-crafted trap, leading Reville into a snare.
