A powerful storm triggers a global continuous cooling, causing snow and ice to paralyze city operations, leaving the world in a frozen state. The New York City government is mobilizing the public to the bunker at Mathis Air Force Base, hoping citizens can avoid disaster when a larger storm approaches. Bri is eager to track the storm to collect data on the weather anomalies to help her scientist parents find out the cause of the storm, so she and her boyfriend Tyler drive to chase the storm's center. However, during the pursuit, they encounter a road collapse and, along with many college students, become trapped at Sequoia Community College, with an avalanche blocking all exits from the school. Fortunately, Bri has already contacted her parents and, while waiting for rescue, uses her knowledge to organize a self-rescue effort. They must escape before they are permanently frozen here…
