A 6-year-old girl, Rikka Koga (voiced by Ai Matsuura), has lost her beloved grandfather, Souichi (voiced by Hiroshi Arikawa). It is said that she is Souichi's illegitimate daughter, a vague identity that has become a shame and burden for the Koga family. However, at the funeral, Rikka meets the most important person in her life—a 30-year-old single man, Daikichi Kawachi (voiced by Dai Tsuchida), who is Souichi's biological grandson.
